Eng. T. Barathithasan has been appointed as the 19th General Manager of the NWSDB and he has taken over his duties and responsibilities officially on 06th May 2024 at the ouspicious time. His educational journey includes primary education from grade 1 to grade 5 at Jaffna, Sankuvely Government Tamil mixed school, then he went to Manipay Hindu College Manipay, Jaffna from grade 6 to O' Level studies.
After completed his O'Level, he went to Sri Ramakrishna Mission (Main) Higher Secondary school T- Nagar, Chennai, India for Secondary Education.
Further, he completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Madurai Kamaraj University, India in 1991, M.Eng. in Construction Management from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 1998, M.Sc. in Hydrology and Water Resources from the university of Netherlands in 2008, and an MBA from Rajarata University, Sri Lanka in 2018. He is also a Fellowship of the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka.
Eng. T. Barathithasan's wife Mrs. Thayaparani Barathithasan who is a Doctor working at Thellipalai Base Hospital. His son Barathithasan Thanushan is the undergraduate student of the Uwa Wellasa University and daughter Ms. Jathusha Barathithasan studying Advanve Level at Jaffna Vembady Girls'High school.
His parents Mr. Thirubalasingam and Thangamma known as popular farmers in Jaffna District.
